0:00 Caller: Hey, hey, how are you?
0:00 You: This call will be recorded.
0:05 You: Hey, Lenny.
0:08 You: I'm well and yourself.
0:10 Caller: Doing good. I wanted to check in and see how it went yesterday.
0:10 You: Sorry, did I not send my debrief?
0:20 Caller: Maybe you might have. I'm sorry, I missed it. I might have missed it.
0:20 You: Thank you.
0:22 You: Thank you.
0:24 You: Thank you.
0:30 Caller: I get so much spam these days that sometimes things just like slip through here.
0:30 You: It's also possible I forgot to send it to you.
0:35 Caller: Are it?
0:36 Caller: No, you're good.
0:36 You: If I didn't, I'll find it again.
0:40 Caller: but yeah i mean just quick how to go and we're actually going to touch base with these guys
0:40 You: It wasn't a
0:44 Caller: i think at like one or two today we just have like a general regroup call so
0:50 Caller: Thank you.
0:50 You: casual conversation. It was a
0:52 You: BCG-styled case study
0:53 You: for a business
0:55 You: that had
0:57 Caller: Yeah.
0:57 You: functionally fixed revenue.
1:00 Caller: really okay that's new
1:00 You: and how to expand margins to increase its enterprise value.
1:04 You: So that was a lot of very quick thinking I had to do on my part,
1:08 You: but I don't think it does my...
1:10 Caller: Yeah.
1:10 You: AI ability. It's the commercial thinking that after Googling it, after the fat, needed to be
1:17 Caller: That's how they...
1:18 You: BCG flavored.
1:20 Caller: Gotcha. So how long was the interview? Was it the one hour one or 30 minutes?
1:20 You: it's different from the other consulting houses.
1:30 Caller: Okay. Yeah, because I mean, they've been changing it up a little bit this time around, like from the last structure. And like that's another reason why we're
1:30 You: little over 45.
1:40 Caller: We're trying to get on like a regroup call with them to be like, hey, what's like, you know, the schedule or like the plan here?
1:40 You: Thank you.
1:42 You: Thank you.
1:46 Caller: Because last time it was like two 30 minute calls and then they had.
1:50 Caller: had like maybe a little bit longer one where they maybe had like that type of like case study
1:50 You: Thank you.
1:53 Caller: thing but i wasn't aware that they were like jumping right into that with those guys um
2:00 Caller: But I mean, did he go over the role at all with you or was it just strictly like, hey, like here's kind of this like case study that we're going to go walk through?
2:00 You: Not the kind of detail
2:10 Caller: Okay, gotcha.
2:10 You: that would normally happen for this first level first call so uh...
2:17 Caller: So you don't really know too much about the...
2:20 Caller: job and like if you're interested in it like i don't know what your thoughts were on that in
2:20 You: I'm not even sure if he knows what the job is, frankly.
2:23 Caller: general okay
2:26 You: Like he has a series of existing problems.
2:28 You: He has an already deployed engineer.
2:29 You: It's unclear.
2:30 Caller: God.
2:30 You: if he's trying to get another one of that engineer or to hire someone to fill the gaps that the first engineer has.
2:40 Caller: Yeah.
2:40 You: Those would be helpful follow-ups if they decide to.
2:41 Caller: Okay.
2:42 Caller: Yeah.
2:43 Caller: Okay.
2:43 You: I also resent the debrief that I normally send after these calls, and then...
2:44 Caller: Okay.
2:45 Caller: Okay.
2:50 Caller: All right, so what I'll do is I will, yeah, no, it definitely helps.
2:50 You: That hopefully gives you more insight for the audience call.
2:56 Caller: I mean, again, that's something else we were going to.
3:00 Caller: I probably asked, but I don't know if I mentioned, like they're, they're probably, they're hiring at least five people, if not more than that on this group. So, you know, there might be a combat.
3:00 You: He also mentioned
3:10 Caller: of like
3:10 You: there were other candidates interviewing.
3:10 Caller: No, I mean they, yeah.
3:12 You: I don't know if you have the rec exclusively
3:14 You: or if you're competing with other firms.
3:20 Caller: I mean, I don't believe that they have any other recruiting agencies that they're working with.
3:20 You: Thank you.
3:24 Caller: Maybe like some internal channels with like, you know, they post the job.
3:28 Caller: I know they have an internal like HR.
3:30 Caller: team. I don't know how much they do, like recruiting side, but, you know, there's, there's more
3:30 You: Thank you.
3:34 Caller: people in the process than just yourself. I mean, again, there's five, at least five, potentially
3:39 Caller: kind of opening. So these guys are doing a lot of interviews over this week and next. And then
3:45 Caller: that's where I think, too, you know, there could be a combination of like, you know, maybe filling the
3:50 Caller: gaps with the current engineer they have in there, but also, you know, other areas that this, you know,
3:56 Caller: team is going to touch on. So I guess that also kind of answers that question of, you know,
4:00 You: Thank you.
4:01 Caller: kind of filling in some of the gaps in this other engineer. But I think it's a little bit of a
4:02 You: Thank you.
4:05 Caller: combination of everything. It's something that they're like kind of figuring out as they go
4:10 Caller: in a way. But I'll definitely take a look at the email. I'll relay that to them, you know,
4:16 Caller: ideally, you know, hopefully like fingers crossed, they, they want to get you set up on another
4:20 Caller: interview and like, we'll explain to them like, hey, like, you know, maybe talk a little bit more
4:24 Caller: about like what your guys, like, total strategy is.
4:26 Caller: you know, with the next step in this interview process. So at least yourself, like, you have a good
4:30 Caller: understanding of, like, what the scope is and, like, what they're looking for. And if it is
4:32 You: Understood.
4:34 Caller: something that you're interested in, you know. All right. So I will let you know once we
4:37 You: Now I'm staying local, hunkering down with all the frozen goodies I could secure before the heat wave starts.
4:41 Caller: get any updates feedback on that. I don't know if I ask. Are you, are you traveling at all for the
4:46 Caller: holidays or are you, you, you know, staying local?
4:54 Caller: Yeah. I know. I know. I'm supposed to like 100.
4:55 You: I have a rooftop apartment, so it's going to be higher than.
4:56 Caller: tomorrow or something. This is great. But, yeah. Oh, yeah, geez. I know. I'm lucky, like, I mean,
5:01 You: So it's going to be higher than that for me.
5:08 Caller: my building's not big, but we're on, like, the bottom floor. So it's nice in the summer. It's obviously
5:11 You: Nice.
5:13 Caller: freezing in the winter. So it's a combination of the two. Yeah. But, all right, cool. Let me,
5:16 You: Right.
5:17 You: Sounds good.
5:20 Caller: let me do that. I'll let you know once I hear anything. And then we'll figure out next session there, right?
5:22 You: Sounds good. Thank you, Lenny.
5:26 Caller: All right. Thanks. Talk to you.
5:29 Caller: All right. Bye.
5:31 You: Thank you.
